Don’t forget the Ecumenical Quiz on Saturday evening January 21st, starting at 7.30pm. £1 per person, bring some finger food to add to a shared buffet, please and don’t forget your own beverages. The next Traidcraft and Tools for Self Reliance Coffee morning will be on Saturday Feb 4th between 10.30 and 12 noon. Everyone is welcome. Our next Soup and Crusty lunch is February 11th, and we may be short of help. Please volunteer to Fiona if you feel able to wait on table, wash up, make tea , put soup & puds in bowls etc. Soup, bread, dessert and a cuppa for £4.00. The money raised goes to our Uganda Projects and the Burton branch of the MS Society. Well done and thank you to everyone who helped at the first S&C, which raised over £320. Don’t forget to add a little something to your shopping list that can be put in our YMCA box. Try and bring a simple meal eg: pasta and sauce, rice and sauce, breakfast cereals, tea or coffee. Just remember that it has to be non-perishable. From January 2012, there will be a brief time of prayer for healing in the church every Thursday between 11.30am and 12 noon. No refreshments, just prayer. If you can’t get to the church then try and say your own prayers at the same time wherever you are. The next Hunger Lunch at the Catholic Church is in February. Keep an eye out for the posters. Mid-week Communion: Next one Wednesday February 1st 7.00pm Bible study: Wednesdays 7.45 for 8.00pm. “Provocative Church”. Rev Gordon Gresswell will be available in the Church from 6.30pm every Wednesday, if you wish to speak with him about anything. |
